It says, "Staying with people I like is more important than having the best team and taking a bit of a risk."

As for the declaration, Ponting didn't declare till 600+ in the first test. The fact that the Australian captain waited that long to declare - and he KNOWS these wickets - should have given Freddie a heads up, and he should have followed Punter's lead. This was a test where we needed to get our confidence back, so having that extra cushion was essential...and might have lifted the worry from the bowlers on the 5th day - and free of that worry, they might really have been able to let loose for a win.

Straussy as captain. It'll bring his form back too.Pragmatic Mystic https://www.blogger.com/profile/08877990361303745003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33689950.post-1165362846187825192006-12-05T23:54:00.000+00:002006-12-05T23:54:00.000+00:00Still think it's about time Gilo and Anderson were...Still think it's about time Gilo and Anderson were dropped.

And yes, Fletcher plus Freddie... well. In defence, though, over the summer, two declarations were made too late, which led to draws, rather than England victories (at Lord's, v. Sri Lanks, Pakistan) and the criticism was immense.

Mike Hussey and Ricky Ponting are beginning to nark me off.

Warne, well, what more can I say. Genius, beach bum slapper, Australian! 695 wickets...Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14938746435856286963noreply@blogger.com
